The easiest way to upgrade Typo3 is through your cPanel-> Fantastico, but please note that if you Typo3 installation is heavily customized, the automatic upgrade process might destroy it entirely.

When you select Typo3 from the application menu at right click on it and wait for the page to load. If there is an available upgrade version you should be able to see a link with text "Upgrade:. Click on it and follow the onscreen instructions.
